I have been quiet this week because I had my ulpan final today, so I was hypothetically studying every evening (where studying = justification for eating Burgers Bar on a Tuesday). I expected to have trouble sleeping last night when I went to bed at midnight, but I didn’t have my usual anxiety related insomnia.
That should have been my first clue.
Anyway, the highest-level reading comprehension text left us all reeling. Nothing to be done about that except feel even more strongly that 20 hours a week for five months is not enough time to have the reading skills of a elementary school student.
But then came the grammar and writing section (my forte). One of the essays I had to write gave a choice of four options, one of which was to base the essay on the following phrase: “On the other hand, I couldn’t stop laughing.”
Sounds kind of like my life with Miss M.
And I was a blank. Could not think of a thing. I have had this blog for over three years now and couldn’t think of a funny but also frustrating story about Miss M. What? Clearly aliens have taken over my brain. And now I have to read through my archives and school myself on the happenings of my funny daughter.
(I eventually figured out something, but it didn’t have as large a dichotomy as I was hoping for.)
