I see we are not so into the bilingual posting; I shall refrain.
Instead I will navel-gaze, as I completely and utterly missed my blogiversary on New Year’s Day. I was busy at the mall, eating breakfast at Cafe Hillel with half the population of Modiin. (Taxman had to ask for butter approximately 46 times. And they had no chocolatta–quel domage!)
I recently attended a bloggers’ gathering, and I felt, honestly, like I was out of place there. There was a lot of intense discussion of social media and monetizing and online newsletters. And my thoughts were along the lines of “What?!” To quote the aside to me from another blogger who was there and isn’t in it for the money either, “Where’s the fun?”
For me, blogging is about the community. All of you who are on the journey with me, picking me up when I fall on my face, providing kind words and laughter and thoughtful discussion. Perhaps I’m not using my online persona to its fullest, sizzling, moneymaking (hahahaha! whatever) potential, but I’m happy with what I’ve got.
Thanks. I mean it.
