Dear Self,
Maybe don’t make decisions when you have been up since 4 in the morning.
If your instinct is telling you not to allow Miss M to come shopping with you when you have a very long (and very expensive) list–even if she’s begging–don’t do it. Even if you think that maybe she needs the time alone with you. Even if you think that she might finally be old enough to handle an hour in a grocery store without filling the cart with unwanted things and without dancing in the crowded aisles.
You will be sorry. You will be exasperated, you will hiss, you will threaten; she will lose dessert and TV privileges.
But on the flip side, you will come home with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Creme Brulee. Plus everything on the list. So not a total loss.
Still, take heed.
xoxo

Is the creme brulee worth it? I’ve been eyeing it, but then I also saw the new Cheesecake Brownie flavor. Haven’t bought either yet…

A wonderful lesson not just for Self, but for the rest of us on the Internets.

Shanna-I liked the creme brulee way better than the cheesecake brownie. The creme brulee is very sweet but yummy!
Sorry about the crazy shopping experience…I must remember this for the future.

I hate, hate, hate the shopping trips from hell. I swear they do it sometimes b/c they know I will not scream “fuck” at them in public. Of course, the bad trips are forgotten in favor of the good ones so I continue to take them with me when I probably shouldn’t.
Taking husband is worse for the list b/c he will not stick to it for love nor money.

Never. Ever. Make decisions on that little sleep. You are wise to write this down for future reference.
